- fly the kite slowly to the zenith
- lift off with a slight forward rotation
- take off the board with your back hand
- run backwards as many steps as possible
- pull down the bar to get lift and steer the kite forward
- meanwhile jump off the beach with a forward rotation
- keep steering the kite forward to get going
